Lindsay Lohan's House Arrest Bracelet Goes Off

Lindsay Lohan's house-arrest monitoring system went off on Monday, prompting police to pay her a visit.

But the actress, who is under house arrest for a theft conviction, was at home watching TV and reading scripts, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"Lindsay's electronic monitoring system went off on Monday," Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, said Thursday in a statement. "When a representative from the monitoring company went to her home, the representative found Lindsay there. The equipment was replaced the following day."

While she spends time at her townhouse, the actress may only leave home for medical appointments or to go to the probation department. She may receive visitors, but she's not allowed to venture outside the "interior premises" of the home without prior authorization, a move that will set off her ankle bracelet. She is also prohibited from tampering with the ankle bracelet, which would also sound an alarm to her monitors.

Lohan had been sentenced to four months in jail after pleading no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace, but jail overcrowding issues and the fact that she's a nonviolent offender made her eligible for house arrest.

The actress is now expected to serve only 35 days of confinement due to good behavior and budgetary constraints.

Lindsay Lohan Begins House Arrest

Lindsay Lohan began serving her house arrest Thursday morning after turning herself in to authorities.

The 24-year-old actress arrived at Lynwood Jail at 5:02 a.m. to check in, where she was fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet. She was then sent home to her townhouse in Venice, Calif., where she'll reportedly spend 35 days in confinement.

The Mean Girls star had been sentenced to four months in jail after she pleaded no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace in April. Because she is a nonviolent offender and there are jail overcrowding issues, Lohan became eligible for house arrest.

As part of her sentence, Lohan was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service, which includes janitorial duties at an L.A. County morgue.

Lindsay Lohan Chats With Kyle and Jackie O

Lindsay Lohan is back in the game!

Chatting with Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O live on Skype, Lindsay Lohan gave a candid interview about everything going on in her life, from her community service to defending her courtroom couture.

The Mean Girls star, 24, was hanging out with Kyle in his Los Angeles mansion when the starlet sat down to dish on all the burning questions people have for the her.

Although she dodged questions if she was bi-sexual, when asked if she was dating anyone, she said: "I'm available."

How is community service going? "I'm enjoying it. I'm working in the Downtown Women's Shelter, and I think the second part I'm going to be working with kids, which I really like."

That dress! On the white dress she wore to court, which critics have said was "inappropriate" for court. "I hadn't worn it, I still had the tag on it and she said it looked great so that was it. You wouldn't say that to a hooker coming into court, that's inappropriate. That's all she has.

"I have great things to wear so it's not my fault! I love fashion, but I wasn't wearing that to court, I just wanted to go to court and get court over with because it's scary."

What about Glee? "I don't watch Glee."

Would she give them her music? "Yeah, but they've made a lot of snarky remarks about me, and I don't know why they don't need to do that."

Can she get insured for movie roles? "There was no problem insuring me for this, it was just a little extra money. It just costs a little extra.

"I think once I start filming, there's a few films I'm going to do, that's the best thing for me. I love being back on set. I had to learn, I'm not a kid so I had to grow up and be accountable. I really haven't done that much."

Technically, Lindsay is REQUIRED to stay sober during her formal probation -- which ends after she completes her 480 hours of community service -- but we're told, it doesn't matter ... Lindsay's committed to sobriety for the long haul.

One thing ... Lindsay does take issue with the three-year probation itself -- telling friends she doesn't think she deserves it -- but que sera sera ... she has learned to accept her fate.

Bottom line -- her friends are adamant ... Lindsay has learned her lesson once and for all.

Lindsay Lohan is NOT joining the Church of Scientology ... TMZ has learned -- despite reports claiming John Travolta was trying to indoctrinate the actress into his religion.

Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ, the actress has no plans whatsoever to become a Scientologist -- she hasn't taken any classes with the Church ... and hasn't even been asked to visit by current members.

We're told Lindsay has nothing against the Church -- but she was raised Catholic and plans to stay Catholic ... in fact, she remains an avid practitioner to this day.

It's all in response to several reports on Friday -- that Lindsay made inroads with the Church of Scientology under the guidance of "Gotti" co-star John Travolta ... but it just ain't true.

Former Olympic champion Audley Harrison claims he had an encounter with Lindsay Lohan over the weekend at Chateau Marmont ... while he was "in the toilet."

This past Friday, Judge Stephanie Sautner sentenced the starlet to 120 days in jail for violating her probation. However, she only served 5 hours after posting $75,000 bail.

Lindsay Lohan Is 'Angry' About Jail Sentence

It's been a rough couple of days for Lindsay Lohan.

The actress returned to Lynwood Jail on Friday after a topsy-turvy day in court, and she is frustrated with the status of her jewelry theft case.

"She is fine," says producer Nathan Folks, who is a close friend of Lohan, 24. "Obviously, she is upset about [being sentenced to four months in jail]."

On Friday, a judge found Lohan, who is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace, in violation of probation and sentenced her to the jail time and a hefty 480 hours of community service, which Folks admits was a "setback."

But she was allowed to post bail and released within hours of getting booked. Lohan remains free pending an appeal of the sentence, which legal experts say she has slim chance of winning.

"She is angry because she has been working so hard on turning her life around," says Folks, who insists Lohan is clean and sober. "She didn't do what they said she did. She didn't steal that necklace."

Still, Lohan is resigned to accept whatever decision comes down from the court when her trial begins June 3.

"She is ready to do her time. She wants to go to A.A. and N.A. and to serve her [more than] 400 hours [of community service]," Folks says. "She has already been doing lots of charity work."

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to 120 Days Jail Time

It turned out not to be a Good Friday for Lindsay Lohan!

Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled that the actress was in violation of her probation and would receive 120 days in jail, Us Weekly confirmed.

Lohan, 24, was was only charged with a misdemeanor for her alleged necklace theft in January; she turned down previous plea deal bargain offers prior to Friday's trial and faced the possibility of felony charges. She will be tried in 45 days.

However, Judge Sautner ruled the incident was a violation of the probation terms set forth after Lohan's 2007 DUI arrest. In addition to her 120 day jail sentence, she will be required to perform 360 hours of community service.

Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Holley, immediately filed a notice of appeal. The actress' bail is set at $75,000.

Lindsay Lohan Back On For Gotti Movie

Well, that was fast.

Just a few hours after the producer of Gotti: Three Generations said that Lindsay Lohan was "no longer being considered" for a role in the film, he's changed his mind.

"She was definitely out as of earlier today, but she really wanted the part," Marc Fiore tells PEOPLE.

In fact, you could say Lohan made Fiore an offer he couldn't refuse.

"She not only is back in the movie, but she single-handedly put it all together," says the producer. "She called me personally and put her team on it and we came to an agreement."

He added that Lohan, 24, was "no nonsense," when it came to making the deal happen. "She played a real leadership role."

But Lohan will not play Victoria Gotti as had originally been reported. Instead, she will play Kim Gotti, the wife of John Gotti Jr., in the flick, which stars John Travolta.

Fiore calls the Kim character "a very important role" and says Lohan is "very excited about the part."

Fiore says Lohan is in for a two picture deal, which also includes his other mafia movie, Mob Street, in which she will play the wife of the lead character Bobby Bataglia.

Lindsay Lohan OUT As Victoria Gotti

Lindsay Lohan can fuggedabout playing Victoria Gotti on film.

"We are not talking any further about Lindsay playing Victoria," says Marc Fiore, producer of Gotti: Three Generations. "She is no longer being considered. The talks have stopped. We are going to meet with other people [for the role]."

But just last week, it seemed almost a sure thing when Lohan popped up at the movie's April 12 press conference and looked strikingly like Victoria Gotti. Even John Travolta, who's playing Gotti Sr., in the yet-to-be-made flick said, "I always thought she was gorgeous and talented."

So is Lohan just too expensive and troublesome to insure with all of her past legal troubles?

For now it's omerta for Fiore, who would not explain why she's been "bumped off."

"She a wonderful person," he tells PEOPLE. "Her legal case has nothing to do with it. We just couldn't reach terms."

Meanwhile, Nick Cassavetes is also out as the film's director but Fiore says it's all due to scheduling conflicts. "Nick is doing the film Yellow and financing came through" says Fiore. "We were just not willing to put Gotti on hold so we decided to release him from the film."

But he's not worried about finding a replacement. "I've got about a million phone calls from directors" says Fiore. Anyone calling Martin Scorsese?

Countess LuAnn: Leave Lindsay Lohan Alone

With Lindsay Lohan only days away from her felony grand theft case court date, Real Housewives of New York star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps is sending love to the starlet. Lesseps, whose messy divorce was dragged through the tabloids, sympathizes with Lohan, admitting the media should let her get on with her life.

"I feel like people are always on Lindsay's back. I feel sorry for her," Lesseps told Pop Eater at the 23rd Bailey House Auction party. "Does she need to go to jail for stealing a necklace? I don't think so. Hopefully she will get a break and have learned something from this whole experience."

Real Housewives of New York star Kelly Bensimon is appalled at how Lindsay Lohan dressed for court on Feb. 9. “Lindsay dressed completely and utterly inappropriately,” Kelly tells Hollywood Life exclusively. “You should dress like you are going to a funeral, not a club.”

Why did Lindsay decide to wear a skimpy, tight white dress to court? “I think Lindsay is addicted to attention — media attention — and that’s what’s motivating her,” Kelly explains.

Kelly, the daughter of a lawyer, has had some experience in court, and knows that it’s not a situation to take lightly. “When I went to court two years ago, I was throwing up at 5:00 a.m. because I was so upset,” says Kelly. “I dressed in all black and I slipped into the court house because I didn’t want to be seen.”

“Lindsay, on the other hand, is dressing and playing for the cameras, treating it like a trip to a club,” adds Kelly.
