So you'd rather his folks make all the big decisions for him and never let him become that adult?
Parents should be slowly divesting themselves of big, life decisions to their children as they grow. Yes, you can set rules of the house but you can't actually actively prevent him from doing something.
Who's talking about decisions? It's about teaching responsibilities.
Obviously you can't prevent any person from doing as they desire, but setting rules is not a prison sentence, it's a loving parent exercising their responsibility to set guidelines for a yet not grown up (technically) young adult who doesn't know any better. Sure they need to learn by their mistakes, but tell that to him when he's 19 and responsible for a baby who never asked to be brought into the world. He'll have to grow up then won't he or can he?

i initilized my drive and cleaned everything off including the os. when i startup, the lilttle mac folder comes up and blinks a question mark. when i put in my os 9 cd it attempts to boot. most of the time, it just doesn't work. others, it will start to load stuff, then just freezes. i am starting to think that my disk is flawed. what do you think? what should i do?

FANTASTIC news. As big a pile of crap as Notes/Domino is, I'm stuck with it at work, and being the lone Mac dude just makes things worse. Notes on the Mac platform is sorry right now, and some improvements would be much appreciated.
I'd love to some day see Domino Administrator ported to Mac.

Yeah I know Apple's policy on low pricing to sell hardware and I think it's brilliant.
I'm not complaining. On more than one occasion they forced the competition to offer more for less in order to compete and that's a great thing from a consumer perspective.
I don't know why they drop the software after a while though, discontinuing Shake didn't make any sense.
I think once Apple saw just how deep down the post production rabbit hole they'd have to go to meaningfully support and develop Shake they decided it would be too much effort for too little return so bye-bye Shake. It was too much of a niche w/in a niche for Apple, IMO.

I wish that just for a second we could turn back time and have it like the middle ages.
This guy would have been dragged onto the streets and the mob would beat the **** out of him.
I guess the best we can do today is to report this guy to 4chan/anonymous :D

How do you open localized strings?
Using qlmanage -p or vim, you can see the contents, but they look compiled.
But anyway to view the files properly?

I see TJ Maxx's acquisition of some iPads as a marketing scheme. If a few select stores have at least 5 to offer at a discounted price, imagine what kind of results they would get if they offered them as a Black Friday Doorbuster Special. They would probably get hundreds lined up at the door like Best Buy does for a deeply discounted HDTV or laptop. As for a warranty, I don't think they offer warranties on any of their products because they are a clearing house.
True. There's nothing wrong with that. SJ should be happy for selling 80 iPads in one transaction.
The buyer is free to give them away or sell them for less.

Of all the people to worry about the "me" factor. :p
Not to mention location. Wasn't it the 'UK' that had a guy write plays, where one had this line in it...
Juliet:
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."
Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2) (http://www.enotes.com/shakespeare-quotes/what-s-name-that-which-we-call-rose)

I mean like, I have the new brit Femme Fatale album, ripped it to FLAC.
I used MAX to convert it to ALAC and everything is fine, but when I checked the bit rates of each individual songs in iTunes they were different, is it supposed to be like this or is it some problem with MAX and how it encodes them?
Like one song would have 900 something and another song would have 1100 something, it's weird.

What about when you sign up for life insurance only to find out you cant get it because google sold your location to the insurance co. complete with logs of you going to (or near) the liquor store on a daily basis. Or the clinic.
Is reading for comprehension a lost art? What is wrong with people who don't understand the difference between tower logging and tracking?

It is true that some information that came from normal interrogation approaches at Guantanamo did lead to information that was beneficial in this instance. But it was not harsh treatment and it was not waterboarding.”

So I guess steve isn't aloud to use a mac?
As for the topic... Meh, who cares? They're cheap ipads. I wish there was a way I could get an iPad on the cheap here in the uk.
