    My passport is expiring next year how early i can apply my renewal,
    I want to go to india to get my visa stamped, i donot want to get it stamped in my old passport.

    Any idea?

    I am never happy with my footer and still am not happy with it; I wish kirupa allowed music because transition effect like the ones in my footer went to a techno track but I took it out before I published it :*(, so I will most likely update it later today and a totally maxed out version on monday. By then I should have my intro done, ya know, for certain people to view a sneek peek message me on AIM.

    I got the I-797 approval notice in mail but no card yet. I heard CARD takes few weeks.

    How long did it take for the I-797 after the approval of 485? Which service center was this at?

    just called USCIS and reached level 2 customer support. she still could not find my 485 information. She send a request to NSC to look for my application. and ask me to ask them after 45 days if I still not hear anything from NSC.

    Dont worry. You will get it soon. .Same thing happened to me. Applied I-485 on July 2nd, EAD/AP in 2nd week of August. Got receipts for EAD/AP from NEC on Aug 29, checks cleared today for I-485 from TSC.

    So Dont worry.. You should get it.

    Number 3 is by far the better pic to my mind. Re: Destroying your cloud....
    yeah, just playing with some new scatter brushes that I didn't have control over yet :D...was aiming more for something like your pic 3 above.

    In cases where there is no natural framing (Flora, fauna, dock posts, etc etc), on a sunset shot you can use people (silhouttes) to add elements of interest. Or maybe shoot from ground level; just suggestions and it's always fun to experiment with these things.

    Thanks QJ! I think you did a fine job with the brushes. And thanks for your comments and suggestions. I lots to learn and re-learn. I just got this Canon 20D a few weeks ago and have not done any "serious" photography in several years. I definitely am having fun with it though....I've been waiting for the digital slr's to get where they are for most of those years. :)

    Mostly of the people just think its just giving the annonymous name,phone numbers and getting the benefit of the decision .Please read these point and understand carefully before jumping.

    I think it matters and you probably might get an RFE if you dont provide evidence that you are qualified for the advertised job.

    You can try to get an affidavit from some of your older colleagues.


    It is EB3 (PD 2001) and Lc did say that 3 years of experience and my first job almost have 2 years 8-9 months of experience. So I was thinking that USISC should not mind for letter of eperience for 3 remaining months..Current job ..I have been working now for 6.5 years....

    Does it matter..Do you think it really matters..

    let me know..otherwise I really have to worry about RFE

    Yes, the employer does have several EB2 positions. I am not sure which one to apply for given my EB3 with the same employer and other factors mentioned earlier

    I log in every day to see whats happening with my I-140 , Mine filed in september and the processing date moved only 15 days in last month. It took 2.5 years to complete the labor and I think I am struck in I-140 here...

    Any one received I-140 approvals recently ? I just want to know what is your receipt date

    Hi,

    I am trying to e-file AP renewals by myself instead of using my expensive Attorney. I have a question. If you have successfully e-filed, can you please clarify ?


    1)My wife was originally admitted into the US as H-4. But now after entering US on H4 and staying on h-4 for about 6 months she used her EAD to work. Her H4 visa was renewed and is still valid even though our Visa stamping on the passport has expired. So what should her class of admission be ? Should I write H4 or EAD ? AP form asks for class of admission.


    2)If filing for both self and wife, should this be mailed in two different packets or one packet , two different envelopes ?

    If you are e-filing, by definition you won't need to mail anything (or almost, see below)!
    I applied on-line for both EAD and AP, and it's really very simple.
    You certainly don't need to pay those ridiculous fees to an attorney for that!
    After e-filing, I received two weeks later in the mail a request to send ID pictures. That's the only thing I had to mail.

    Here is what you get when you apply for student loans without GC/US Citizenship:

    1. Trust loans (called Stafford loans also).
    2. Need US Citizen co-signor. A co-signor with good credit scores helps in keeping the interest rates down.
    3. Even with a US Citizen co-signor with good credit score, the interest rates are usually way higher that what a GC holder gets.
    4. If you have more than one loan (every year/semester of college corresponds to a loan, though you may not have to go through the paper work formalities from the second year/semester to get the loan), you are NOT allowed to consolidate your loans during payoff. Consolidation helps bring down the monthly payment amount when the time comes to repay the loans.
    5. Variable interest rates. Looking at the past few years, interest rates have never dropped, only moved north. To give you an idea it could be anywhere between 15 to 18% now to begin with.

    In a nutshell, student loan is a very costly affair if you do not have GC/US Citizenship. The good thing is, there are no pre-payment penalties.

    I think they are doing the right thing. We all should let them work on our cases instead of calling them. We all know how productive they already are. Calling them does not help them or us.

    Calling them is just our self-satisfaction.We have already seen how good USCIS is working after July - 2007 Fiasco.I personally impressed the way they are working..i have seen so many I-485 approvals in my friend circle and at my work place from January,that it self incidates that USCIS is really working.

    Do the stastics actually show spilled over numbers? ie if EB1 India has depleted 3K visas, does it mean upto 3K were used because they got spilled to Eb2 and Eb3?

    apply for perm...by the time it gets approved..u may be eligible for 140 premiuim..as per the new rule...

    but there is a catch...your labor shoudl be in process for atleast a year..for you to apply for H1 extension....hmmm...Gurus on this board may shed some light on it...

    Currently on H1B 8th year extension which will expire on 25th June, 2009.

    Labor PD: 9th August, 2004
    Labor cleared: 11th September, 2007.
    I-140 (approval pending) filed on 4th October, 2007. Received at USCIS on 5th October, 2007.
    Can�t file for I-485 since the EB3 date for India is unavailable.

    There is a high chance that I might be laid off at my current employer in the next 2-3 weeks.

    Can I transfer my H-1 upto June 25th, 2009 (or later) as well as start a new PERM case in EB2 category?

    In case of the above H-1 transfer, will the new H-1 be valid for 1 year from the filing or will it be upto 25th June, 2009?

    What are my other options not to go out of status or leave the country?

    it is very easy to get it done. You take money , go to scotia bank branch - there are tons of them there & get it done. Takes about 5 min. only. But go to Canada a day before to avoid any problems.
